Just listening to the five songs will transport you through a journey rich in diversity and will make you connect with yourself and your environment. But in reality, this is an album that is made to be seen live or on video in order to appreciate and experience the maximum potential of each of the pieces. To observe how the great diversity of instruments, effects and sounds that are heard are executed and mixed live by a single person. Both the rhythmic as well as the melodic parts, the solo parts as well as the accompaniment parts, the acoustic instruments as well as electronic ones. Gabriel uses all of his fingers, his voice and his feet as he moves through a unique and innovative instrumental set.
Music will take you to deep states of introspection, relaxation, meditation and joy. At times you will just want to be still experiencing the effect of the sounds on your body and mind. At other times you will feel the vibration of the different pulses and rhythms and you will have the impulse to dance. And at other times you will simply be mesmerized to see how the different pieces are being built, as if they were organisms that take on a life of their own.
It is a looping project in which each of the sounds are produced entirely live. The songs have a very soft and meditative opening part, followed by the part where the rhythmic cycle is established and the different sounds are intermingled. These first two parts are based on improvisation, so each of the presentations is a unique version of the piece. The third and last part of the songs is based on old Indian rhythmic compositions that are readapted to new melodic compositions. These long and complex structures generate a feeling of euphoria that is resolved in peace.
Carrying out this project required a lot of effort and there were times when I thought about giving up. But my love for music and my intention to send a message to my son was bigger. I dedicate all the love, energy and effort accumulated in this project to my beloved son, my greatest inspiration and the engine in my life. When the time comes, I hope I can tell you the story behind all this and with that I can inspire you to always fight for your dreams. I love you so much!
